Clarksville, Ark.-Hardin-Simmons handed the Eagles their third straight American Southwest Conference loss with a 85-67 setback Saturday in Abilene, Texas.
Hardin-Simmons (4-2, 3-1 ASC) held a 36-28 halftime lead. Ozarks (3-5, 1-3 ASC) did have a narrow 22-21 advantage with 7:52 left in the half and later increased it to 25-21. But the Cowboys reeled off a 15-3 run to finish out the half. Ozarks went 0-for-7 from the three-point line in the first half.
The Eagles kept it close early in the second half, but the Cowboys eventually built a 54-38 lead at the 14:08 mark. Hardin-Simmons maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way.
Shawn Curtis posted 22 points to lead the Eagles. Andre Williams dished out nine assists.
Ozarks will host Schreiner University December 7.
