Clarksville, Ark.-Jessalyn Halsted connected on a penalty kick in the 109th minute to propel the University of the Ozarks women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Hendrix College in Wednesday afternoon's non-conference match.
<#IMAGE:1#>Halsted knocked the game-winner past a diving keeper in the right corner to give Ozarks their second win in three tries this season. It was her second penalty kick of the match. Her first came in the 18th minute when she whizzed one past the keeper in nearly the same spot. Hendrix (1-0-1, 0-0-0) recorded 16 shots, but Ozarks goalkeeper Olivia Fisher stopped 12 of those to help the Lady Eagles improve to 2-0-1 on the year. Defensively, Ozarks allowed their only one goal of the season when Hendrix’s Alena Davis scored in the 72nd minute. Ozarks totaled 3 shots in the match. The Lady Eagles improve their all-time record against Hendrix to 2-7-1. Ozarks will travel to Georgia this weekend to face Agnes Scott College on Saturday and Oglethorpe University on Sunday.
