Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks freshman forward Guido Salas was named the American Southwest Conference men's soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

The 5-foot-10, 155-pound Houston, Texas, product totaled eight points during Ozarks 2-0-0 week, highlighted by a hat tick in Thursday’s win against Howard Payne. Salas scored in the 3rd minute and then recorded a pair of goals in the second half to accomplish the feat. He is just the third ASC player this season to score three times in a match. He additionally assisted on a goal and all five of his shots were on goal. Against Mary Hardin-Baylor Saturday, Salas had an assist and finished with two shots on goal in a 2-1 win.

Salas currently leads the league with seven assists and is seventh in points (15), eighth in shots (31) and tenth in goals (4). He has one game-winning goal.

He is a graduate of Dulles High School where he earned All-District First Team honors three straight seasons.

Ozarks (9-2-2, 4-2-1) will travel to Texas this week to play Texas Lutheran University October 17 and Schreiner University October 19.
