Clarksville, Ark.-Senior forward Jared Gordon scored two second half goals to help the University of the Ozarks men's soccer team to a decisive 3-1 victory over Mississippi College in American Southwest Conference play on Saturday afternoon.

Gordon, who also scored a goal and assisted on another in Friday’s win over Louisiana College, broke a 1-1 tie in the 54th minute when he and Ryan Skelly worked the ball to set up a rocket shot past the keeper in the left corner of the net. Gordon struck again in the 79th minute on a header this time to the right corner of the back of the net. It was Gordon’s team-leading seventh goal of the season. Brandon Cain received the assist. Gordon now moves into fourth-place on Ozarks (6-4-1, 3-2-0) all-time goals scored list with 26. While Ozarks finished the match well, the Choctaws (7-2-1, 3-2-1) scored in the 19th minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Eagles, however, would tie the match in the 44th minute when freshman Matt Engelman headed one in after a Brian Sarber goal kick.<#IMAGE:1#> The Eagles totaled 12 shots in the match, with Gordon recording 5 of those.
