Gordon Leads Ozarks Past Concordia-Austin

Clarksville, Ark.-Senior forward Jared Gordon scored three goals to lead the University of the Ozarks men's soccer team past Concordia-Austin 7-0 in Saturday's American Southwest Conference match in Austin, Texas.

Gordon scored the match’s first goal in the 19th minute and assisted on the next in the 23rd minute. Shaun Renfro and Ryan Skelly added goals in the first half to help Ozarks (3-2-1, 1-1-0) maintain a 3-0 lead after 45 minutes of play. Darren Clark received the assist on Gordon’s score and Renfro had the assist on Skelly’s goal.<#IMAGE:1#> Gordon would score back-to-back goals to open the second half. The first came on a penalty kick in the 61st minute. The second came in the 66th minute on an assist from Renfro. It is the second time in Gordon’s career he has recorded a hat trick. He had three goals against Louisiana College in 2004. Wilson Jones collected two goals in the second half to finish the 7-0 match. Dan De Hart and Philip Johnson had the assists on Jones’ goals. With 23 career goals, Gordon moved into fifth-place on Ozarks all-time career goals scored category. Brian Sarber had 3 saves. Jeffrey Enevoldsen had 1 save in 30 minutes of action. The Eagles travel to Searcy to face Harding University on September 19.
