Goodman’s Overtime Goal Lifts Eagles

Clarksville, Ark.--The Eagles (8-7-0, 5-4-0) remain in the playoff hunt following a 3-2 overtime win over Hardin-Simmons University (7-6-2, 5-4-1) on Saturday. With four conference games remaining, the Eagles are in a three-way tie for sixth place.

Against Hardin-Simmons, the Eagles took a 2-1 lead in the 86th minute on Will Brahic’s second goal of match. However, Hardin-Simmons tied the game just seconds later to send the contest into overtime. Justin Goodman nailed the game-winning goal in the 103rd minute to give Ozarks their eighth win of the season. Hardin-Simmons held a 1-0 lead at halftime before Brahic tied the score in the 62nd minute. The Eagles out shot Hardin-Simmons 22-16 in the match and tallied 12 shots on goal. Brahic and Ron Hogsett each recorded 5 shots apiece. Goalkeeper Chris Schultz had 7 saves. Ozarks will host Concordia-Austin on October 22nd and Mary Hardin-Baylor on October 23rd. Saturday’s match against Mary Hardin-Baylor will be designated as "Senior Day." All seniors and their families will be recognized prior to each match. In their final two games, Ozarks will travel to Kerrville, Texas, to face Schreiner University on October 30 and Seguin, Texas, to take on Texas Lutheran University on October 31.
