Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles used a 32-point, 14-rebound effort from Sabrina Goddard to upend Texas-Tyler 62-57 Saturday afternoon in American Southwest Conference play.

Ozarks (8-7, 6-6 ASC) did need a pair of clutch free throws from Ashley Teague late in the game to tie the contest, 57-57, with 2:08 remaining. Texas-Tyler (8-7, 5-7 ASC) then missed on their next possession and Goddard was able to grab the rebound and convert an inside shot for the Lady Eagles with 1:15 left. The Lady Patriots had two more chances to either tie it or take the lead but came up empty. Texas-Tyler led for most of the first half as Ozarks hit a scoring drought scoring just six points during an eight-minute stretch. The Lady Eagles then made a run near the end of the half to head into intermission with a narrow 23-20 lead.

Ozarks led for most of the second half until Texas-Tyler went on a 12-4 run starting at the 8:49 mark. Ozarks took the lead back with 2:52 to go on two of Goddard’s 22 second half points. Texas-Tyler would drill a three-pointer to take the lead back before Teague’s free throws.

Lacey Phillips finished with 10 points and six assists.

Ozarks will travel to Louisiana College January 19 and Mississippi College January 21.
