Clarksville, Ark.-U of O women's tennis and basketball player Chelsea Glasscock wanted to do something to bring a little holiday cheer to the Clarksville Retirement Center.

Glasscock, a senior from Prairie Grove, and roommate Erin Heim decided to collect items for stockings. Glasscock took advantage of facebook to spread her idea and was able to raise funds for the gifts. Glasscock then endorsed the women’s basketball team to assist in stuffing the stockings. The group also made Christmas cards to give out.

“As a child, you grow up knowing that Christmas time is a time of joy and holiday cheer,” said Glasscock. “We wanted the people who reside at the Clarksville Retirement Center to remember that feeling and be reassured that they are still cared about.”

Glasscock and Heim delivered the gifts Thursday morning to the delight of many.
