Clarksville, Ark.-Former Ozarks' Student Assistant Sports Information Director Daniel Gallegos has been named the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications & Sports Marketing at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania.

Gallegos, a 2010 Ozarks’ graduate, served three years in Ozarks’ Sports Information Office where he was recognized as a two-time American Southwest Conference Academic All-Conference for Sports Information. He served as the radio play-by-play announcer for Ozarks’ athletics and assisted in several award-winning media guide publications.

“What drew me to the position were the similarities it has with Ozarks,” said Gallegos. “They are an NCAA III school with a beautiful campus and surrounding community. I feel like the opportunities I received at Ozarks allowed me to produce a solid resume and helped me land the job at Allegheny."

He is a member of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and the College Sports Information Directors of America.

“We wish Daniel the best in his position at Alleghany College,” said Ozarks SID Josh Peppas. “We recognize his important contributions to the university and our athletic department. He will truly be missed by our entire staff.”

Allegheny College competes in the North Coast Athletic Conference and has a combined 19 men’s and women’s sports.
