Muskogee, Okla.-After Ozarks tied the game with 6:38 left, Bacone College outscored the Lady Eagles 13-8 to take a 65-60 win Wednesday night in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Free throws proved to be the difference as Bacone (3-1) hit 18-of-24 while Ozarks (1-1) made just 9-of-19 in the game.
Ozarks started slow in the first half, but eventually rallied to pull within 33-26 at intermission. Ozarks took their first lead in the second half on an Ashley Teague three-pointer. Sabrina Goddard followed with an inside shot to extend their lead to 46-42. But Bacone built a four-point lead with 7:36 left and then held a 62-55 advantage at the 2:18 mark. Lacey Phillips drilled a three-pointer with 14 seconds remaining to bring Ozarks within 63-60. But Bacone hit two free throws to put the game out of reach.
April Young led Ozarks with 11 points. Goddard and Villines each had 10 points. Phillips had 11
assists.
Ozarks will host Central Baptist College November 22.
