Former P&G executive to speak at Ozarks on Jan. 25

Thomas Verdery, executive in residence for the Soderquist Center for Leadership in Ethics at John Brown University, will speak as part of the 2012-2013 PBL-Enactus Distinguished Speakers Series at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 25, in the Boreham Business Building at University of the Ozarks.

Thomas Verdery will be the first guest speaker for the spring semester of the 2012-2013 PBL-Enactus Distinguished Speakers Series.

Verdery, who is also a professor in the graduate business program at JBU in Siloam Springs, Ark., will speak on "Top Habits of Successful People." The lecture, which will be held in Baldor Auditorium, is free and open to the public.

Verdery, who earned an MBA from the University of Dallas in 1990, spent 34 years in sales management with Proctor & Gamble before retiring in 2009. He was part of P&G’s original customer business development team partnership with Wal-Mart in 1988. When he retired he was global training and development manager for the Fortune 500 company.

He is considered an expertise in the areas of executive coaching, leadership and ethics, strategic account management and how to start and lead multi-functional customer teams.

Convo credit for the lecture is available for Ozarks students.
