Clarksville, Ark.-Behind Olivia Fisher's 25 points and 18 rebounds, the Lady Eagles gained a 75-66 American Southwest Conference victory over Texas Lutheran University on Monday night.
Ozarks (1-7, 1-3) built a 44-26 halftime advantage only to see their lead dwindle to 55-50 with 9:46 left in the second half. The Lady Eagles held a 53-35 advantage at the 15:22 mark of the second half following a lay-up by Fisher. However, the Bulldogs (0-7, 0-4) stormed back on a 17-2 run to cut the deficit to five points. The pesky Bulldogs wouldn’t go away as they cut the deficit to 57-55 with 6:24 left in the game. Ozarks answered with 10-3 run over the next four minutes to halt Texas Lutheran’s comeback.
The Lady Eagles cruised to a comfortable 21-8 lead with 13:12 left in the first half when Erica Eneks nailed a three-pointer. Ozarks continued to build upon their advantage, and had a 35-20 edge after a Fisher jumper with 3:50 left. Ozarks would allow just six more points in the half to hold an 18-point advantage at the half.
Ozarks had a 58-43 rebound advantage in the game.
Emma Cantele scored 15 points and Erica Eneks contributed 14 points. Cantele also had 5 assists.
Ozarks will host Hendrix College on December 31 at 5:30 p.m.
