Conway, Ark.-Senior forward Jordyn Ferrell scored a career-high 26 points to lead the Lady Eagles past Hendrix College 81-60 Tuesday night in non-conference play.
Ozarks (1-2) held the lead for nearly the entire first half behind Ferrell’s 12 points. Hendrix (0-3) maintained a brief lead five minutes into the contest, but Ferrell completed a three-point play to give Ozarks a 18-10 advantage at the 12:29 mark. Hendrix eventually tied the game with 3:28 remaining in the half, but Ozarks went on a 13-2 spurt to hold a 38-27 halftime advantage. Ferrell started the run with a layup and Jordana Andrews finished it with a jumper.
Hendrix could do little to slow down Ozarks in the second half as the Lady Eagles’ lead ballooned to 48-30 four minutes in. Tamara Wilkett hit a pair of three-pointers in the second half, including one with 5:58 left in the game to give Ozarks a 21-point cushion.
Ozarks shot an impressive 19-of-22 from the free throw line. Ferrell hit all 14 of her free throw attempts and snagged 11 rebounds to record a double-double. Chelsea Glasscock and Wilkett each scored 12 points for Ozarks.
Hendrix was led by Jamie Tate, who scored 15 points. Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler and Tiffany Hubbard scored 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Ozarks will open American Southwest Conference play against Texas-Dallas November 24.
