Ferrell Drills Six Three-Pointers In ASC Win

Clarksville, Ark.-The U of O men?s basketball team surged to a 78-64 win against LeTourneau University Thursday in American Southwest Conference play behind six three-pointers from freshman guard Josh Ferrell.

The Eagles (4-4, 2-3 ASC) trailed nearly the entire first half, but made a run to pull within 26-25 at the 4:31 mark. Ted Beard IV eventually gave Ozarks a 28-27 lead with two free throws with 2:10 remaining. Jordan Kaluanga then scored back-to-back baskets and Ozarks led 34-29 going into the half. Ferrell made two from long-distance in the first half, but then hit four more in the second half to keep LeTourneau (2-6, 1-4 ASC) from a comeback. The YellowJackets did close the gap to seven points in the second half, but Ferrell hit back-to-back three-pointers over a two-minute span to give Ozarks the momentum. Beard IV drilled a three at the 4:25 mark to increase Ozarks lead to 68-56.

Ferrell finished with 20 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the three-point line. Beard IV had 13 points and seven rebounds. Joshua Clark finished with 12 points and made a pair of three-pointers. Kristopher McCrary added 10 points.

Ozarks will hit the road for four straight games starting with Howard Payne University January 2. Ozarks will then head to Sul Ross State for a game January 4.
