University of the Ozarks will begin classes for the Fall 2014 Semester on Tuesday, Aug. 26.
U of O officials are expected to welcome approximately 200 new students to campus on Thursday, Aug. 21, for FIRST Week, a new-student orientation presented by the university’s Student Life Office. The four-day orientation helps new students and their families transition to Ozarks and will include sessions about campus organizations, tips on succeeding in the classroom, workshops on team-building, Q & A sessions for parents. and entertainment.
One of the highlights of the new student orientation is the Matriculation Ceremony, scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 22, in Munger-Wilson Chapel.
Other important dates for the Fall 2014 Semester at U of O include: Family Weekend, Sept. 26-28; Fall Break, Oct. 30-31; last day to drop classes, Nov. 11; Fall Eagle Day for prospective students, Nov. 15; Thanksgiving Break, Nov. 26-28; last day of regular classes, Dec. 12; final exams, Dec. 15-18; and Fall Commencement, Dec. 18.
