Fall American Southwest Conference All-Academic Honors Announced

Clarksville, Ark.-21 University of the Ozarks student-athletes have been named to the 2010 fall American Southwest Conference All-Academic team, it was announced by the league office November 23.

To be eligible for ASC All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have lettered in the 2010 season, be in at least their second academic year at their institution, and carry a career grade-point average of 3.00 or better.

The men’s cross country team placed six athletes on the team: Tristan Cooper, a junior biology/environmental studies major from Jasper, Ark.; Zach Doty, a junior strategic communication/marketing major from Andrews, Texas; David James, a junior physical education major from Jasper, Ark.; Michael Melcher, a sophomore mathematics major from Elkins, Ark.; Jeremy Provence, a junior physical education major from Winslow, Ark.; and Trent Ueunten, a sophomore environmental studies major from San Jose, Calif.

The women’s cross country team had two athletes on the team: Tadera Garland, a junior early childhood education major from Pelsor, Ark., and Ashley Teague, a junior strategic communication major from Lavaca, Ark.

The men’s soccer team placed six athletes on the team: Tanner Holman, a junior English major from Mesquite, Texas; Travis Murnan, a junior mathematics major from Tulsa, Okla.; Christian Ridings, a junior physical education major from El Dorado, Ark.; Guido Salas, a junior marketing major from Houston, Texas; Tony Santoro, a junior mathematics major from Houston, Texas; and Neil Thompson, a junior strategic communication major from Ovilla, Texas.

The women’s soccer team placed seven athletes on the team: Rebecca Groff, a junior physical education major from Prattville, Ala.; Natalie Grove, a junior English major from Witter, Ark.; Su San Low, a senior marketing major from Ampang, Malaysia; Lacey Mainer, a junior physical education major from Branch, Ark.; Jessica Martin, a senior biology major from Bentonville, Ark.; Morgan O’Neil, a sophomore environmental studies major from Marion, Ill.; and Kaitlyn Williams, a junior strategic communication major from Clarksville, Ark.
