Clarksville, Ark.-U of O freshman midfielder Daniel Faires was named American Southwest Conference Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Eagles' last three victories.

Faires, a Springdale, Arkansas native, totaled seven points last week, leading Ozarks to a perfect 3-0 record. Faires registered a goal in a 3-1 win over Division II Harding University, the game winning goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over Austin College and a goal in a 2-0 win over the University of Dallas. Faires, a leading candidate for conference Freshman of the Year, has now scored a goal in four straight matches. Faires has scored five goals and tallied 12 points for the season. “We’re very excited with Daniel’s contribution in our midfield,” said head coach Dave De Hart, whose team is atop the ASC with a 4-0-1 record. “He’s an outstanding young player.” This marks the third Ozarks’ player to receive conference Player of the Week honors this season. Faires earned all-state his senior season at Springdale High School and is the son of Rick and Jean Ann Faires.
