Clarksville, Ark.-The East Texas Baptist University women took advantage of a Lady Eagles scoring drought in the second half to secure a 63-57 win in Saturday?s American Southwest Conference contest and Hall of Fame game.
Ozarks (7-8, 4-6 ASC) led 37-36 at the half, but East Texas Baptist (10-5, 5-4 ASC) grabbed an opportunity during a ten-minute span in the second half to gain momentum. Ozarks led 43-40 at the 15:47 mark, but wouldn’t score again until five minutes later. By that time, ETBU held a 48-45 lead. The Lady Tigers went ahead 55-50 with 3:32 remaining in the game before Ozarks cut it to 60-58 at the 1:32 mark on Chelsea Glasscock’s fifth three-pointer of the day. However, ETBU hit three clutch free throws down the stretch to seal the game.
Glasscock led Ozarks with 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field. She hit 5-of-10 from three-point range. Kindra Davis grabbed 14 rebounds.
Ozarks will travel to Mississippi College and Louisiana College for games January 17 and January 19.
