Marshall, Texas-The East Texas Baptist Lady Tigers slipped past the Lady Eagles 2-0 in Saturday?s American Southwest Conference soccer match.
The Lady Tigers (8-4-1, 5-3-0 ASC) scored in the 31st minute to hold a 1-0 edge at the half. Ozarks (3-12-0, 2-8-0 ASC) accumulated just one shot in the first half, but battled back in the second half and had six opportunities to score. Too many corner kicks by the Lady Tigers forced Ozarks to play on the defensive end for most of the match. The Lady Tigers added a security goal in the 51st minute and recorded 16 corner kicks in the match.
Alex Cannon totaled three shots on goal to lead Ozarks.
Ozarks will host Texas-Tyler October 20 and Concordia University Texas October 22.
