ETBU Men Hand Eagles Largest Setback

Clarksville, Ark.-The East Texas Baptist University handed the Eagles their biggest defeat of the season with a 81-50 setback Saturday in American Southwest Conference action in Marshall, Texas.

East Texas Baptist (6-8, 5-5 ASC) raced out to a 33-17 halftime lead and then shot 56 percent from the field in the second half to hold a 20-plus advantage for much of the second half. Ozarks (7-8, 5-5 ASC) could do little to slow down the hot-shooting Tigers as the home team took a commanding 55-28 lead on Joe Brown’s trey with 10:14 left in the game. East Texas Baptist continued to control the game and reached a 71-41 lead with 4:45 remaining.

Clayton Crouch came off the bench and led Ozarks with 14 points.
