Marshall, Texas-East Texas Baptist University completed a three-game weekend sweep against the Eagles with a pair of wins Saturday in American Southwest Conference play.

Ozarks (9-12, 1-5 ASC) two losses cap a disappointing weekend as the Tigers (11-11, 3-0 ASC) won in the bottom of the ninth Friday night and then outscored the Eagles 22-11 on Saturday. ETBU started the day in grand fashion as it homered twice in the first inning in a 14-6 game one win. The Eagles came back from that momentum-building frame and cut the deficit to 4-3 in the top of the third after recording two hits and taking advantage of a pair of Tiger errors. The Eagles then tied the game, 4-4, in the top of the fourth behind a Freddy Prince RBI single. But ETBU responded with three runs in the bottom half of the frame to hold a 7-4 advantage. The game changed in the fifth though as ETBU scored seven runs on just three hits and Ozarks never recovered.

Sam Shook and Nick Brill had two hits for Ozarks and Rodger Montano (2-2) took the loss.

The Eagles let a 3-2 lead slip away in a 8-5 game two loss. Ozarks opened the game with a 2-0 lead after Brill ripped a two-run single. The Tigers tied the game in the third, but Ozarks went ahead 3-2 in the fourth on a Mitchell Powers sacrifice RBI. ETBU then posted back-to-back-to-back two run innings to move in front 8-3 after seven complete innings. The Eagles scored twice in the top of the eighth, once on a solo home run from Drew Clark and another on an infield error, but it wouldn’t be enough as ETBU kept Ozarks off the board in the ninth.

Ozarks had 12 hits in the contest, with Powers finishing 3-for-3. Clark and Taylor Parker each had two hits. It was Clark’s first homer of the season.

Ian Bryan (2-2) was tagged with the loss after tossing five innings as the starter.

Ozarks will host North Central College March 21 at 2:00 pm. Ozarks will face North Central again March 22 at 11:00 am and Ecclesia College at 2:30 pm.
