Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles (2-14, 2-11) were unable to make a second half comeback as East Texas Baptist (6-10, 6-7) outscored Ozarks 41-32 in the final twenty minutes of play to cap off a 75-62 victory.
Ozarks trailed just 34-30 at intermission behind a 10-point, 8-rebound effort by Olivia Fisher. The Lady Eagles suffered from 10 first half turnovers, but did shoot better from the field than their opponent. Ozarks canned 11-of-29 (37%) from the floor compared to ETBU’s 12-of-37 (32%) shooting performance. The Lady Eagles came within two points in the second half when Erica Eneks hit a shot to cut the deficit to 42-40 with 15:08 remaining in the contest. However, the Lady Tigers would slowly increase their lead to as much as 15 points. Jeanne Randall did hit a shot with 57 seconds left to make the score 70-64, but it would be the final basket for Ozarks in the game. Fisher ended the contest with her fourth straight double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in the loss. Eneks added 13 points. Ozarks will travel to Clinton, Mississippi, to face Mississippi College on January 27 and Pineville, Louisiana, to face Louisiana College on January 29.
