Erickson Tosses Complete Game Against East Texas Baptist

Clarksville, Ark.-Freshman right-hander Tyler Erickson tossed a complete game and the Eagles' offense scored five runs in the second to propel Ozarks to a 7-5 win over East Texas Baptist University Thursday night in Marshall, Texas.

Erickson opened the game throwing three straight shutout innings and Ozarks’ offense provided two home runs during that span. Chris Driedric hit a solo shot in the first and Jake West hit a two-run homer in the second to give Erickson a comfortable 6-0 lead. In the second, Ian Bryan and Nick Brill each drove in runs with doubles.

East Texas Baptist (12-26, 5-11 ASC) managed a run in the fourth, but Erickson came back with a scoreless fifth and sixth inning. Freddy Prince drove in an insurance run in the eighth.

Erickson improves his record to 2-6. He struck out four and walked three.

Prince went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Driedric and Tony Morales each had a pair of hits.

Ozarks (8-30, 2-14 ASC) will conclude their season tomorrow with a double-header beginning at 1:00 p.m.
