Engelman’s Goal Lifts Ozarks Past Comets

Clarksville, Ark.- Matt Engelman's goal in the 74th minute proved to be the game-winner as the Eagles improved their record to 8-1-0 after a 2-1 win against UT-Dallas on Saturday.

Ozarks (8-1-0, 3-0-0) trailed 1-0 at the half after Comet Kevin White knocked in a header in the 2nd minute. Darren Clark evened the score at 1-1 when he netted a goal in the 51st minute on an assist from Aaron Brueckner. It was Clark’s fourth goal of the season. Engelman then notched the game-winning goal on an assist from Dan De Hart. It was Engelman’s first goal of the year.

Ozarks had 13 shots, while the Comets (5-3-0, 2-1-0) finished with 12. Engelman and Brandon Cain each had three shots. Brian Sarber had four saves for Ozarks.

Ozarks will travel to Pineville, Louisiana, to face Louisiana College on September 27, and then go to Clinton, Mississippi, to face Mississippi College for a match against the Choctaws on September 29.
