Clarksville, Ark.-The No. 9 ranked Emory University Eagles powered their way to a convincing 6-1 victory over the University of the Ozarks men's soccer team on Saturday in Atlanta, Ga.
Ozarks (1-1-0) had trouble slowing down a high-powered Emory (1-1-0) attack that scored four first half goals on 14 shots. With a 4-0 lead at the half, Emory added goals in the 66th and 76th minutes to hold a 6-0 advantage. All six Emory goals came from different players. Ozarks produced 10 of their 12 shots in the second half. Ozarks would eventually net a goal in the 79th minute on a shot from Guido Salas. Brandon VanCleave was credited with the assist.
Ozarks will play Oglethorpe University Sunday in another non-conference match at 1:00 p.m. in Atlanta.
