Emory Outlasts Ozarks Men

Birmingham, Ala.-The Eagles dropped their second game in the Birmingham-Southern College Black Tie Tournament as Emory University came away with a 90-80 win Saturday.

Ozarks (1-2) struggled in the first half to keep up with Emory (1-1) as it trailed by as many as 11 points with 6:32 remaining. Emory’s lead then ballooned to 14 points by halftime. Ozarks played much better in the second half as it stormed back to within 58-49 at the 12:30 mark. Ozarks continued to surge, with Deon Pleasant cutting it to 74-70 with 4:20 left. Ozarks climbed again within four points at the 2:35 mark, but Emory responded with clutch baskets to secure the game.

Ronnie Dodd led Ozarks with 19 points. Marcus Bobb had 17 points and Andrew Cummings and Victor contributed 11 points apiece.

Ozarks will travel to Conway for a match-up against Hendrix College November 20.
