Clarksville, Ark.--Ozarks dropped a pair of games, 3-1 and 19-4, to East Texas Baptist in American Southwest Conference play in Marshall, Texas, on Thursday afternoon.

In game one, Ozarks’ one run in the sixth inning wouldn’t be enough as the Tigers (23-3, 7-1) took a 3-1 victory. ETBU scored twice in the bottom of the third and once in the fourth to hold off an Eagles’ (15-8, 4-4) late inning rally. In Ozarks’ final at bat, Chris Harrell led off with a single and Caleb Hilton reached on an error, but the Eagles couldn’t get either across the plate. Ozarks was held to six hits in the game. Robby Finnell went 2-for-3 with one RBI to lead the Eagles. Jed Kirby (4-3) received the loss after pitching six innings. Game two saw the Tigers explode for six runs in the fifth and ten runs in the sixth in route to a 19-4 win. The game was tied at 2-2 through four innings before ETBU cranked out eight hits in the fifth and turned momentum in their favor. The Tigers followed that inning with five hits and ten runs while taking advantage of two Ozarks’ errors. Justin Brown tagged his sixth home run of the season to tie the contest at 2-2 in the third. With the homer, Brown extends his modern-day school career home run record to 13. The Eagles got on the board again in the sixth when Hilton smashed his fifth homer of the season. Ozarks collected 14 hits in the game, but left 14 runners on base. Kyle Hudson went 3-for-4 to lead the team. Brown had a team-best two RBI. Brian Heckmann (4-3) received the loss. Ozarks ends their series against ETBU with a nine-inning contest on Friday at 12:00 p.m.
