Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles (5-2-0) defeated Austin College 2-0 in their conference opener at Clarskville's Hurie Field on Friday.
A Ron Hogsett goal ten minutes into the match triggered Ozarks to a 1-0 lead at halftime. Hogsett weaved his way through several Austin defenders for his team leading fifth goal of the season. Coming into today’s match, the McKinney, Texas native ranked third in the conference in points (9). The Eagles would score once more on a Josh Edgmon shot from twenty yards out. Edgmon’s goal came at the 47th minute and was assisted by Ricky Herrera. It was the fifth consecutive shutout for the Eagles, who have out shot their opponents 97-45 during that five-game span. Sophomore goalkeeper Chris Schultz received the win and recorded four saves. The Eagles will play University of Texas-Dallas at home on September 29.
