Clarksville, Ark.-The U of O baseball team picked up an American Southwest Conference win against Austin College over the weekend.

The Eagles (7-20, 4-13) played three games on March 29 and were defeated 3-1 and 11-1, but came back to win the final game 8-7. The Eagles out hit Austin 7-4 in the first game and held a 1-0 lead for two innings, but were unable to score again. James Seymour (2-4) received the loss after pitching six innings and giving up only 4 hits. Clint Phifer and Chris Harrell, both freshman, led Ozarks with two hits apiece. In game two, the Eagles were notched at 1-1 going into the bottom of the third inning, but Austin would score a combined 10 runs in the next two innings to gain the victory. Shawn Adams and James Seymour collected two hits each. Chase Pearrow (0-3) received the loss. A three run rally in the fourth inning proved to be the difference in the Eagles 8-7 win in Friday’s final game. Pearrow, Harrell and Brandon Bain each scored in the top of the fourth inning to give the Eagles a 6-1 lead. Freshman Clint Phifer went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI in the game. Senior Shawn Adams also recorded two hits and stole his league leading thirteenth base of the season. Freshman Nathan Moore (3-2) picked up the win. Seymour got the save. "I was proud of the fact that the kids showed heart in the third game," said head coach Jimmy Clark. "They battled back and got the win. I’m hoping this will jump start us for our weekend series against East Texas Baptist." The Eagles will play a three game series against East Texas Baptist this weekend in ASC action. Friday’s double-header will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday’s game will start at 1:00 p.m., with a ceremony honoring the seniors beginning at 12:30.
