Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles tied Mary Hardin-Baylor 3-3 in a double overtime match in American Southwest Conference play on Friday in Belton, Texas.
Ozarks (11-2-4, 7-1-3) took a 3-1 lead in the first half only to see the Crusaders (4-7-3, 3-5-3) storm back and score in the 47th and 52nd minutes to tie the match. Ron Hogsett scored in the 20th minute to put the Eagles up 1-0. Ryan Skelly added another goal in the 22nd minute to put Ozarks in control. Josh Carrasco and Hogsett received assists. After Mary Hardin-Baylor scored in the 30th minute, Ozarks answered with a goal of their own just three minutes later as Lars Nyberg scored off an assist from Hogsett. Ozarks 3-1 lead lasted only two minutes when Jeremy Whitehurst scored early in the second half. Whitehurst would strike again to tie the match and eventually send the contest into overtime. ????? Ozarks totaled 17 shots in the match. Hogsett, Skelly and Nyberg each had three shots. ????? Brian Sarber had eight saves. ???? Ozarks will host Central Baptist College on Tuesday in a non-conference match. Ozarks will host Texas Lutheran University on October 28 and Schreiner University on October 29 to wrap-up theconference regular season.
