Clarksville, Ark.-The U of O Eagles baseball team gained two wins against Schreiner University in American Southwest Conference crossover action on Saturday afternoon at Hurie Field.

The Eagles (6-4) went into one extra inning in their scheduled seven-inning contest against Schreiner (2-7) in the first game and came away with a 5-4 come back victory. With the score notched at 4-4 in the bottom of the eighth and two outs, Rusty Farrin knocked in Kerry Shirley for the game-winning RBI to seal Ozarks sixth win of the season. Shirley, who went 3-for-3 in his first start of the season, got on base after smacking a double to left field and was the only other Ozarks player to record an RBI in the game. Farrin’s dramatics gave him his second RBI of the year. Ozarks had 8 hits in the contest. Kyle Hudson (3-0) picked up the win after pitching three and one-third innings. Hudson struck out 3 and gave up 5 hits in the win. The Eagles pounded out 12 hits and used a big four run fourth inning in their 8-7 win in the second game to pull out a sweep against Schreiner. The two squads were tied at 4-4 going into the bottom of the fourth inning before Ozarks put four runs on the board to take a 8-4 advantage and the lead for good. With two outs and the bases loaded, Justin Brown walked in one run and set up Anthony Brandon’s 3 RBI single. Brandon’s hit up the middle scored Brown, Shirley and Brett Hays. Schreiner, however, scored 3 runs in the sixth to cut the lead to 8-7. Brandon went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI to lead Ozarks. Brown, Farrin and Chris Harrell each had two hits apiece. Justin Jennings (1-0) received his first win of the year and struck out two in four innings of work. Hudson received his second save of the season. The Eagles are back in action on March 2 when they host Lyon College at 2 p.m.
