Eagles Suffer Setback To UT-Dallas

Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles suffered a 94-76 setback against UT-Dallas on Thursday night in American Southwest Conference action at Richardson, Texas.

Ozarks is now in a fourth-place tie with Louisiana College. UT-Dallas (10-12, 8-11) used a solid shooting night to upend an Ozarks’ (11-11, 9-10) team fighting for a spot in the post-season playoffs. The Comets shot 61 percent from the field in the game, including 53 percent from the three-point line to hand Ozarks their first loss in their last three outings. The Eagles held a 21-18 lead at the 10:09 mark of the first half before the Comets out scored Ozarks 31-12 to finish the half. UT-Dallas, who had a 49-33 lead at halftime, went on to maintain a double-digit advantage for most of the second half. Ozarks did cut the deficit to nine points on two occasions, but that would be as close as they would get. Brent Johnson led the team with 21 points and five three-pointers. Habeeb Kareem added 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the floor. Kareem also had a team-best 6 rebounds. Ozarks will travel to Tyler, Texas, to face UT-Tyler on February 12.
