Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles picked up a 2-1 win over the Choctaws in American Southwest Conference play on Saturday afternoon at Hurie Field.

Ozarks (4-4-1, 2-2-1) scored two goals in the first half and were able to maintain the lead over the Choctaws (2-7-1, 2-3-1) the entire match thanks in part to another fine offensive performance. Sophomore midfielder Malcolm Williams burned his home state Choctaws with a goal in the 18th minute on a pass from Will Brahic. It was Williams’ first goal of the season. Freshman Ryan Skelly would add to the Eagles’ lead when he scored in the 33rd minute on a pass from Justin Goodman. It was Skelly’s second goal of the year. The Eagles again had numerous shots in the match, gaining 22 shots to the Choctaws 9. Sophomore forward Ron Hogsett led the squad with six shots. Junior goalkeeper Chris Schultz had two saves. Ozarks travels to Marshall, Texas, to face East Texas Baptist on Oct. 3 and Longview, Texas, to face LeTourneau on October 4.
