Eagles Split With Schreiner And Lutheran

Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles (7-5) won one of two games over the week against American Southwest Conference West Division opponents.

The Eagles lost 92-90 on a last second shot in overtime to Texas Lutheran University on January 11 and then defeated Schreiner 92-83. A put back of an offensive rebound with one second remaining lifted Texas Lutheran to a 92-90 overtime win over the Eagles. After trailing by five points with 40 seconds left in regulation, the Eagles stormed back on a three-point play from Mandrell Howell, a three-pointer from Ricky Johnson and a three-point play from Michael Bollman. Bollman’s bucket came with four seconds left in the game. In overtime, the two teams traded baskets before Lutheran’s game winning shot by a freshman. Bollman scored 26 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Howell followed with 25 points and seven rebounds. Shane Norrid and Ricky Johnson scored 16 and 10 points, respectively. The Eagles overcame a 14-point deficit in the second half to defeat Schreiner 92-83. The Eagles shot an impressive 17 of 21 (81%) from the free throw line in the game. Bollman led the Eagles balanced offensive attack with 27 points on 11 of 19 shooting from the field. Bollman snagged a team-high 10 rebounds. Ricky Johnson and Josh Joyner scored 15 points apiece while Brad Johnson had 13 points. Howell followed with 11 points
