Eagles Split With Central Baptist College

Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles baseball team split with Central Baptist College on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action in Conway.

The Eagles (4-3) used a four run fifth inning in their 5-3 win against the Mustangs (3-8) after facing a 3-0 deficit. Todd Vandevoir, Brett Hays, Justin Brown and Rusty Farrin each had hits in the inning, with Brown, Anthony Brandon, Caleb Hilton and Farrin recording an RBI apiece. The Eagles would tack one more run on in the seventh when Hilton knocked in Chris Harrell. Ozarks had 10 hits in the contest. Kyle Hudson (2-0) picked up the win after pitching three innings in relief and recording one strikeout. Hudson, who has a team-best 1.29 ERA, allowed only one hit in the game. The Eagles dropped the second game of the double-header, 5-4, against the Mustangs. Ozarks out hit Central Baptist 11-5, but were unable to score in five of the seven innings. The Eagles did, however, hold a 1-0 lead after the first inning and added three runs in the fifth to close the deficit to one run. Brandon and Hilton each had 3 hits to lead Ozarks. Brandon is hitting a team-best .423 at the plate. Matt Wilson (0-1) received the loss. The Eagles open American Southwest Conference play this weekend when they host Schreiner University on Friday and Saturday.
