Eagles Roll To 3-1 Victory

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks men's soccer team won its fifth straight conference match with a 3-1 American Southwest Conference victory against Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday afternoon.

<#IMAGE:1#>The Eagles (9-4-1, 6-2-0) took control of the match early, scoring a pair of goals in the first half. Darren Clark beat the visiting keeper in a one-on-one opportunity in the 12th minute. Jared Gordon received the assist. It was Clark’s first goal of the season. Freshman Shaun Renfro then followed with a goal in the 26th minute to extend Ozarks’ lead to 2-0. Gordon again received the assist. Renfro now has 3 goals this season. Ozarks cranked out 7 shots in the second half, including a penalty kick by Gordon, who has accumulated a team-best 26 points thus far. Ozarks out shot the Crusaders (8-6-0, 5-3-0) 16-9 in the match. Clark had a team-best 4 shots. Ozarks goalkeeper Jeffrey Enevoldsen had 5 saves. Ozarks will host Howard Payne University tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.
