The U of O men's basketball team was picked to finish third in the American Southwest Conference's East Division , according to a preseason poll made up of ASC coaches, sports information directors and selected media.
The Eagles, who finished 14-10 last season and also finished third in the conference standings, received 102 total points. Mississippi College was selected to finish first in the poll and collected 147 total points, followed by East Texas Baptist with 118 points. The Eagles return nine lettermen from last year’s squad while ending the season in third place in the East Division. The Eagles will have the return of junior guard Brent Johnson, who missed last season with a knee injury. Johnson was an honorable mention all-conference player his sophomore season.
