Eagles Pick Up Wins Against ETBU, LeTourneau

Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles picked up two conference wins on the road last week and moved to 4-0 in the American Southwest Conference and now hold first place in the East division.

The Eagles (11-5) blistered the nets in the first half, hitting 20 of 35 field goal attempts en route to a 51-43 lead at intermission, and ended the game with a92-85 win over East Texas Baptist. Four players scored in double figures for Ozarks with Ricky Johnson leading the way with 18 points. The Eagles got a strong performance from Brent Johnson in a 86-73 win over the Yellow Jackets. Johnson, making only his second career start, scored a career high 28 points. Johnson hit four of six three-pointers and also had two dunks. Howell had 21 points to along with a team high 9 rebounds. Brian Henderson chipped in with 12 points. The Eagles put in a fine defensive effort holding LeTourneau to 39 percent shooting from the field in the game. Mandell Howell had 17 points and Brent Johnson and Brent Gibbs each scored 16 points. Shane Norrid led the Eagles with 8 rebounds.
