Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks baseball team opened the season with a 6-1 loss to Rhodes College on Sunday afternoon in Memphis, Tenn.
Ozarks (0-1, 0-0) struggled at the plate on a cold and windy day, collecting only four hits in the contest. David Smith, who went 1-for-3, drove the only run in for the Eagles. Brad Broussard went 2-for-3 to lead Ozarks in batting. Bruce Cameron went 1-for-4. Ozarks pitcher Robby Finnell pitched four and two-third shutout innings, but the Eagles committed too many errors to overcome the deficit. Rhodes goes to 1-0 on the season. Ozarks will travel to Batesville to take on Lyon College on Tuesday.
