Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles opened American Southwest Conference play with a convincing 5-0 win over Louisiana College Thursday.

Francisco Garza scored a pair of goals to lead Ozarks (2-3-0, 1-0-0) to their second straight victory. Garza scored less than two minutes into the match to keep the Eagles in front 1-0 at the half. Ozarks had a number of chances to score in the first half, posting 17 shots and recording six corner kicks, but Louisiana College goalkeeper Filip Linder kept the Wildcats (0-5-0, 0-1-0) in the match with several nice saves. The Eagles wasted little time in the second half, scoring twice in the 56th minute. Both Adrian Nunez and Garza scored 33 seconds apart to give Ozarks a commanding 3-0 advantage. Tanner Holman nearly made it 4-0 in the 57th minute, but his shot hit off the crossbar. Josh Duncan did find the net three minutes later for Ozarks’ fourth goal of the match. Marcus Aldaba added the final goal with 49 seconds remaining.

Ozarks totaled 32 shots on the day. Guido Salas had a team-high nine shots. Neil Thompson started in goal, recording one save in 73 minutes of action. Christian Ridings also had one save in the final 17 minutes.
