Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles increased their home winning streak to seven games with a 78-75 win over LeTourneau University on Saturday.

The Eagles now have an 11-4 record and are 6-3 in the ASC. The Eagles jumped out to a quick start beginning the game with a 10-0 run. However, the scrappy Jackets fought back to cut the lead to 26-23 lead with three minutes left in the half. The Eagles also shot just 37 percent from the field in the fist half. “It was just a struggle today,” head coach Johnny Johnson said. “We were fortunate to win because we shot the ball so poorly throughout the game. It seemed like every time we were gong to take control of the game, we would shoot ourselves in the foot to give them a chance at an upset.” After falling behind 56-58 with 8:23 left in the game, the Eagles turned it up a notch. Brent Gibbs scored on a lay-up and Travis Acord hit a shot and then promptly stole the ball on the ensuing inbounds play for an easy lay-up. Acord and Gibbs each had 17 points in the game. Ryan Koerdt and Donald Williams scored 11 points apiece. Brent Johnson had 2 steals. Ryan Koerdt had 11 points and 3 rebounds in the victory. University of the Ozarks will continue action on Thursday, January 25 against Louisiana College.
