Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles moved into a third-place tie in the American Southwest Conference East Division with a 66-61 win over Austin College on Monday night in Sherman, Texas.

With the win, Ozarks (11-10, 9-9) and Louisiana College now trail second-place UT-Tyler in the divisional standings. UT-Tyler, however, is ineligible for post-season action. Mississippi College has already clinched the division title and will host the eight-team ASC championship tournament February 25-27. The Eagles went into halftime with a 38-24 advantage after shooting a sizzling 66 percent from the floor and then went on to hold the lead for the entire second half against the Kangaroos. Austin College (5-16, 4-14) did make the final minute interesting when they made back-to-back shots to cut the deficit to 62-59 with 44 seconds remaining. However, Jacob Sibley would hit 3-of-4 free throws down the stretch to increase the lead to 65-59 with 30 seconds left. Habeeb Kareem led the team with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor. Josh Joyner followed with 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting. David Hamilton had a team-best 7 rebounds. Ozarks will travel to Richardson, Texas, to face UT-Dallas on February 10 and Tyler, Texas, to take on UT-Tyler on February 12.
