Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks women?s and men?s cross country teams posted strong showings in the Ozarks Invitational October 1 in Clarksville.
It was the first home race for Ozarks since the mid-80’s, and the neither team disappointed. The men’s team won the race as the top four runners were Jeremy Provence (26:26), Tristan Cooper (26:48), Matthew Friant (27:22) and David James (27:30). It was Provence’s personal best in the 8K and the sixth-fastest time in school history.
The women’s team finished second, with two of the top-5 finishers belonging to Ozarks. Ashley Teague (20:32) finished third, while Tadera Garland (20:42) was fifth. Teague ran the second fastest 5K time in school history, trailing only Siama Chauhan, who ran a 20:25 in 1996. Garland’s time now ranks third at Ozarks.

Ozarks will travel to Clinton, Miss., to run in the Mississippi College Invitational October 7.
