Arkadelphia, Ark.-NCAA II Ouachita Baptist University needed a pair of second half goals to secure a 2-1 win over the Eagles in Wednesday?s exhibition match.
Ozarks won the first half, but couldn’t close out the game after the Tigers took control in the final 45 minutes of play. Freshman forward Dylan Amacher scored in the first half to give the Eagles a 1-0 halftime lead. Amacher headed a ball that Tiger goalkeeper David Henley initially blocked, but Amacher rebounded and then netted his follow-up shot.
“We played really well in the first half,” said Head Coach John Cossaboon. “But Ouachita simply outplayed us in the second half.”
Ozarks opens regular season play August 31 against Central Baptist College.
