Clarksville, Ark.-A pair of Dusty Evers free throws with 1:57 left broke a 75-75 tie and LeTourneau University never let go of the lead in a 87-80 win over the Eagles in a game Ozarks had to win to stay in contention for a playoff spot.

The Eagles (10-14, 8-11) had a narrow 51-50 halftime advantage behind ten three-pointers. The second half was a back-and-forth battle that saw six ties and neither team could build more than a four point advantage until a minute to play. Tony Brock completed a three-point play with 5:19 left to give Ozarks a 73-69 lead. LeTourneau (16-8, 15-5) fought back to take a 75-73 advantage with less than three minutes to go, but a Brock jumper tied the game with 2:24 left. Evers, however, hit two free throws to break the tie and the YellowJackets wouldn’t give up the lead. Colby Woolverton nailed a three-pointer with 43 ticks left to get Ozarks within 79-78, but LeTourneau made 6-of-6 free throws down the stretch to seal the game.

Chris Williams paced Ozarks with 23 points. Jeremy Clark added 20 points and Woolverton finished with 15. Brock had 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Both Clark and Woolverton went 4-of-9 from the three-point line.

Ozarks will end the season in Marshall, Texas, February 21 when they face East Texas Baptist University.
