Sewanee, Tenn.-The Eagles overcame a physical Sewanee team to gain a 1-0 victory Saturday at the Kyle Rote Invitational in Sewanee, Tennessee.

Ozarks (2-0-0) remains unbeaten on the season and will face Berry College Sunday at 10:00 am in Sewanee, Tennessee. Matt Weaver’s goal in the 66th minute proved to be enough as the Eagles broke a 0-0 tie and then the Ozarks’ defense held on for the remainder of the match. Shaun Keane received the assist. It was an even match throughout as each team posted 12 shots in the match. But Sewanee’s effort was marred with 17 fouls, four yellow cards and one red card. Ozarks did have more corner kicks (4-2) in the match. Gage Merritt finished with four shots for the Eagles, two of which were on goal. Weaver’s only shot ended up serving as the game-winner.

Austin Benner recorded his first shutout of the season behind a seven-save effort in goal.
