Eagles Drop UT-Tyler Contest; Head Into ASC Tournament Next Weekend

Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles dropped a 1-0 decision to UT-Tyler on Saturday in American Southwest Conference play and will enter the ASC championship tournament next weekend as the No. 5 seed in Tyler, Texas.

UT-Tyler’s Adam McAlpine scored in the 64th minute to lift the Patriots (10-3-3, 9-1-3) past the Eagles (13-3-3, 8-3-2). Brian Sarber recorded nine saves in the contest. Ozarks had their chances in the second half as they took five shots, but the Patriots surged to nine shots in the final 45 minutes which proved to be the difference.

With the win, UT-Tyler will host the six-team tournament held November 7-9 at Citizens First Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex. Ozarks will play Mississippi College (11-3-3, 8-3-2) Friday at 11:00 a.m. The winner of that match will advance to play UT-Tyler on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
