Eagles Drop ThreeTo Mississippi College

Clarskville, Ark.-The U of O baseball team dropped three games against American Southwest Conference opponent Mississippi College over the weekend.

The Eagles (6-17, 3-11) were defeated 16-4 on March 22. The Eagles trailed only 4-2 after three innings of play, but gave up 8 runs in the next two innings. Senior outfielders Shawn Adams and Eric Parker paced the Eagles with two hits apiece. Adams cranked his third home run of the year and had a team high 3 RBI. Chase Pearrow (0-2) started the game and pitched five innings, striking out three. The Eagles lost 11-3 and 12-2 in a double header on March 23. In the 11-3 loss, five different Eagles recorded one hit each. James Seymour (2-3) was the starting pitcher and pitched five innings striking out four. Heath Swiney and Chance Lawless each had an RBI. In game two, Josh Underwood was one of five Eagles to record a hit. Underwood had the team’s lone RBI. Freshmen Jeff Young and Nathan Moore pitched for the Eagles. "Mississippi College was the best team we have faced in the conference all season," said head coach Jimmy Clark. "They were just a better team than us." The Eagles will play a three game series against Austin College on March 29-30 in ASC action.
