Eagles Drop Games To Mississippi College

Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles (7-11, 2-10) dropped three games in their weekend series with Mississippi College (13-7, 9-3) in American Southwest Conference play in Clinton, Mississippi. The Eagles will host Austin College on March 28 and 29 in ASC action.

The Eagles played the Choctaws tight in the first contest losing 5-4 in ten innings of play. Ozarks held a 4-3 lead in the top of the eighth inning, but the Choctaws scored one run in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game at 4-4. The Choctaws would score the game-winning run in the bottom of the tenth to grab the victory. The Eagles recorded seven hits while the Choctaws recorded eight hits. Dustin Cole (0-1) pitched eight innings while giving up only one earned run. Cole also struck out seven. Brett Hays led the team with three hits and two RBI. Frankie Collazo had two hits. The Eagles were unable to muster any runs in the second game of the series, falling 3-0, despite out hitting the Choctaws five to four. Hays led the team with two hits. Justin Dixon (1-3) received the loss. The Eagles lost the final game of the series 5-0. The Choctaws jumped out to a 3-0 lead after three innings of play and then scored two more runs in the fourth to seal the win. Brian Heckmann had two hits for Ozarks. Trevor Holbert (3-2) received the loss.
