Eagles Defeat Hendrix

Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles traveled to Conway to face Hendrix College on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference match and will begin conference action against rival Austin College this Friday at home.

The Eagles (2-2-0) picked up a 1-0 win over the Warriors. A goal by senior forward Ricky Herrera in the in the 35th minute proved to be the game-winner as Ozarks tightened up its defense for the remainder of the match to gain their second win of the season. Herrera’s goal came off an assist by sophomore forward Malcolm Williams. It was Herrera’s 46th goal of his career and his second of the season. The Eagles dominated the statistical facet of the match, out shooting Hendrix 23-8 while recording 12 shots on goal. Herrera and sophomore forward Ron Hogsett led the team with three shots apiece. Junior goalkeeper Chris Schultz (2-2) received the win. Schultz had three saves in the match and recorded his first shutout of the year.
